Vinnie recently joined the team at Wine and Food Travel as Editor in Chief of the site.  We are very excited to have her culinary experience and artistic background to draw from here at WAFT.  Vinnie has always had a passion for the culinary arts and believes in “walking the talk” when it comes to sustainable living.  “It’s wonderful to talk about buying local, but it’s another thing to make a conscious choice to do it- time and time again.”  Having grown up in Canada where natural resources are in abundance and there are strong ties to agriculture, Vinnie has grown up understanding food, where it comes from and how it is grown.  Her passion for food has continued in the development of her culinary skills, working in event planning and even in her interior decorating business.  Her love of the arts is a striking contrast to her business background where she spent over 10 years in Corporate America before departing the “rat race” in search of a more balanced way of living.  After “retiring her briefcase”, Vinnie ventured into her own businesses in interior decorating,  professional writing and now as the Editor for Wine and Food Travel.


Having traveled across North and South America, Southeast Asia and parts of Europe, Vinnie has been fortunate to have had the opportunity to see how others live in both abundant and humble cultures. She has experienced and enjoyed  local foods, wines and experiences in other countries has given her an appreciation for a simple way of living, even with our very “commercialized way of life.”   “Once you have  ridden an elephant, every other form of transportation seems fast.”

Vinnie is also an avid cook and recipe developer.  Her interest in cooking began very young, as she was raised in an immigrant South Asian family where “nothing was made from a box.” Growing up, she watched and learned how her mother experimented with cross cultural meals, not wanting to limit her family to “butter chicken and naan.”  Now with her own family, preparing healthy, homemade food with local ingredients and developing recipes is her new found passion and she has a very grateful family with hearty appetites willing to oblige.

She has a vast knowledge of food and healthful living and a realistic approach to sustainability that is refreshing in the sea of “organic web content.”  Her willingness to share what she has learned, (sometimes through trial and error) will provide our readers with great information on how to strike the balance of healthy living with time and budget constraints, as well as, busy families.   Vinnie also maintains a food blog where she shares many of her recipes with local food communities and with our readers at Wine and Food Travel.

We welcome Vinnie to the team at Wine and Food Travel and look forward to all of her many contributions.
